Here are some examples of strategy you can apply when playing Mem. These examples should give you a good start into understanding the depth of the game.

How to Play Mem

Each game begins by revealing all cards for a few seconds and then turns to hidden as the image shown on the left.

To find out D-2's matching card; C-3 or A-5, scroll the cards downward (scroll your finger downward on the screen).

You should now have this board. Noticing that D-2 does not have an arrow anymore. Therefore C-4 is the match card for D-2, not A-5. You can now select D-2 and C-4.

You should now have this board. You might have notice that previous to scroll the tiles downward D-06 was pointing at C-6. Now it points at C7. Therefore select matching cards D-6 and C-7 .

You can now select matching cards B-5 and A-5.

From now on the board becomes more open and the choices are becoming wider. One possibility would be finding out E-3's matching card. It could be E-1 or E-2. If you scroll all the cards on the left (scroll your finger toward the left side of the screen), you will discover which one it is.

There are two outcome possibilities by scrolling the cards to the left:

  1. E-3 will now point to D-2. In this case D-2 would be the matching card.
  2. E-3 does not point anywhere anymore. In this case E-1 (once the card are scrolled, it would now be D-1) is the matching card.

When you have selected multiple of matching cards, this icon will be shaking at the bottom left of your screen. It indicates that you can shake your iPhone to reveal all cards again. More often you shake it, more difficult it will become to be available.

As heart icon with digit appears at the bottom right, it indicates your current life. When you select a pair of none matching cards, you lose one life. As you reach 0 life, the game is over.

The digits at the bottom of the screen show your current score. The score only shows when you have selected two matching cards.

A normal hidden card that you are able to scroll with your finger.

A frozen hidden card that you can't scroll.

A card with a red arrow hints the location of its matching card.

You might need some practice to become really good
but you now have the basic. Enjoy and good luck :)
